Instructions:
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. If the weather is cold, warm up the engine for a few minutes to make the starter easier to remove.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Locate the starter motor behind the engine block. It's mounted to the bottom of the transmission bell housing.
5. Remove the two bolts that hold the starter to the transmission bell housing. Use a 14mm socket and ratchet.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the starter solenoid. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the locking tab and then pull the connector off.
7. Remove the starter motor from the vehicle. Be careful not to drop it.
8. Install the new starter motor in reverse order of removal.
9. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
10. Test the starter by starting the engine.
>Tips:
>* If you're having trouble removing the bolts holding the starter in place, you may need to use a breaker bar to loosen them.
* Be careful not to drop the starter when you're removing it or installing it.
* If you're not comfortable performing this repair yourself, you can have a qualified mechanic do it for you.
