1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid any electrical accidents.
2. Locate the ignition switch assembly on the dashboard.
3. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry off the cover from the ignition switch assembly.
4. Remove the two screws that secure the ignition switch.
5. Pull the ignition switch out of the housing and disconnect the electrical connectors attached to it.
6. Turn the key to the "ON" position and insert it into the ignition lock cylinder.
7. While holding the key in the "ON" position, use a small flat-head screwdriver to press the release button located at the bottom of the ignition lock cylinder.
8. Once the release button is pressed, the ignition lock cylinder should come out.
