- Drain the oil from the engine.
- Remove the six 10mm bolts that hold the clutch cover in place.
- Remove the clutch cover.
Step 2: Remove the clutch plates.
- Use the clutch holding tool (or a large screwdriver) to hold the clutch basket in place.
- Loosen the six 10mm bolts that hold the clutch plates in place.
- Remove the clutch plates.
Step 3: Inspect the clutch plates.
- Check the clutch plates for wear, cracks, or other damage.
- Replace any damaged clutch plates.
Step 4: Reinstall the clutch plates.
- Install the new clutch plates in the reverse order that you removed them.
- Tighten the six 10mm bolts to 8 Nm (6 ft-lb).
Step 5: Reinstall the clutch cover.
- Place the clutch cover on the engine.
- Install the six 10mm bolts that hold the clutch cover in place.
- Fill the engine with oil.
Step 6: Adjust the clutch.
- Start the engine and let it warm up.
- Pull the clutch lever in all the way and release it slowly.
- The clutch should engage smoothly at around half-way point of the lever travel.
- If the clutch engages too early or too late, adjust the clutch cable accordingly.
