- OBD2 scanner
- TORX screwdriver (T30)
- New brake light bulb (if needed)
Step 2: Replace the brake light bulb (if necessary)
Locate the brake light bulb socket on the taillight assembly.
Use the T30 screwdriver to remove the screw that secures the socket in place.
Pull out the socket and remove the old bulb by twisting it counterclockwise.
Insert the new bulb into the socket and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
Reinstall the socket and secure it with the screw.
Step 3: Connect the OBD2 scanner to your car.
Plug the OBD2 scanner into the OBD2 port under your dashboard.
Turn the ignition key to the "On" position but do not start the car.
Step 4: Select the "Brake Light Reset" option on the OBD2 scanner.
Navigate through the scanner's menu until you find the option to reset the brake light.
Select the option and follow the instructions on the screen.
The brake light reset is now complete, the next time you start the car, the brake light warning should be gone.
