1. Clean the clutch adjuster bolt: Locate the clutch adjuster bolt on the left side of the engine, just below the clutch lever. Clean the bolt and the surrounding area to remove any dirt or debris.
2. Loosen the locknut: Use a 10 mm wrench to loosen the locknut on the clutch adjuster bolt.
3. Turn the adjuster bolt: Use a flat-head screwdriver to turn the adjuster bolt in or out. Turning the bolt clockwise will tighten the clutch, while turning it counterclockwise will loosen the clutch.
4. Check the clutch free play: After adjusting the bolt, check the clutch lever free play. The free play should be between 10 to 15 mm (0.39 to 0.59 inches). If the free play is too tight, the clutch will not disengage properly, and if it is too loose, the clutch will not engage properly.
5. Tighten the locknut: Once you have adjusted the clutch to the desired free play, tighten the locknut to secure the adjustment.
It's important to note that if the clutch is slipping or not engaging properly, it may be necessary to replace the clutch plates or other clutch components. If you are unsure about how to adjust the clutch, it is recommended to consult a qualified mechanic.
