Locate the chain adjuster bolts on the rear axle. There are two bolts on each side, one on the top and one on the bottom.
Loosen the top and bottom chain adjuster bolts on one side of the axle using a wrench or socket.
Turn the chain adjuster bolts clockwise to loosen the chain.
Once the chain is loose enough, retighten the top and bottom chain adjuster bolts on both sides of the axle.
Check the chain tension by pushing up and down on the chain halfway between the front and rear sprockets. The chain should have about 1 inch of free play.
If necessary, adjust the chain tension again until it is correct.
