How do you bleed disc brake of motorcycle?

Bleeding a Motorcycle's Disc Brakes

Disc brakes on a motorcycle are a critical safety component, and it's important to ensure that they are working properly. One important part of maintaining disc brakes is bleeding them to remove any trapped air from the system. This process is relatively simple, but it does require some basic tools and materials.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to bleed disc brake of motorcycle:

1. Park your motorcycle on a flat surface.

2. Identify the brake fluid reservoir. It should be located near the handlebars or under the seat.

3. Fill the reservoir with fresh DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid, to the MAX** fill line.

4. Locate the bleeder screw on the caliper. It should be a small, hex-head screw located near the top of the caliper.

5. Attach a clear plastic tube to the bleeder screw. The tube should be long enough to reach a catch container positioned lower than the bleeder screw.

6. Open the bleeder screw. You may need a hex wrench for this.

7. Slowly squeeze the brake lever. The brake fluid will begin to flow out of the bleeder screw and into the catch container.

8. Continue squeezing the brake lever until you see a steady stream of brake fluid coming out of the bleeder screw.

9. Close the bleeder screw.

10. Repeat steps 5-9 for the other caliper.

11. Once both calipers are bled, test the brakes by squeezing the brake lever firmly. The brakes should feel firm and responsive.

12. Clean up any spilled brake fluid.

13. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir and top it off if necessary.

That's it! By following these steps, you can bleed the disc brakes on your motorcycle and ensure that they are working properly for your safety.

Bleeding the brakes should not be necessary regularly, but it is a good idea to do it if you experience any of the following symptoms:

* The brakes feel spongy or soft.

* The brakes are slow to respond.

* The brakes are making a noise when applied.

If you are experiencing any of these problems, it is important to immediately bleed your brakes and inspect the system for any other problems.
