Step 1:
Disconnect the spark plug
To prevent the lawn mower from accidentally starting while you are working on it, disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug.
*Step 2:* Tilt the lawn mower
Tilt the lawn mower on its side so that the blade is exposed.
*Step 3:* Remove the blade bolt
Use a wrench to loosen and remove the bolt that holds the blade in place.

Remove the blade
Once the bolt is removed, lift the blade off the spindle.
*Step 5:* Inspect the blade
Inspect the blade for any damage, such as cracks or chips. If the blade is damaged, it should be replaced.
*Step 6:* Install the new blade
If the blade is in good condition, you can skip this step. Place the new blade on the spindle, making sure that the star-shaped hole in the blade fits onto the spindle.
*Step 7:* Reinstall the blade bolt
Replace the bolt that holds the blade in place and tighten it securely.
*Step 8:* Reconnect the spark plug wire
Reconnect the spark plug wire to the spark plug.
*Step 9:* Lower the lawn mower
Lower the lawn mower back to its normal position.
Your lawn mower blade is now changed and you can resume mowing your lawn.
