How to replace headlight bulb 1983 Honda Goldwing?

1983 Honda Goldwing Headlight Bulb Replacement

Tools Needed:

* Phillips-head screwdriver

* Flat-head screwdriver

* 12mm socket wrench

* 10mm socket wrench

* H4 60/55-watt headlight bulb

* (2) Lock washers

* (1) Spring washer

Instructions:

1. Turn the ignition off and allow the bike to cool down for a few minutes.

2. Remove the headlight cover. There are two Phillips-head screws that hold the cover in place.

3. Remove the high-beam bulb. The high-beam bulb is located on the right side of the headlight assembly. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the locking tab and then pull the bulb out.

4. Disconnect the high-beam bulb connector. The connector is located on the back of the bulb housing. Press down on the release tab and pull the connector apart.

5. Remove the low-beam bulb. The low-beam bulb is located on the left side of the headlight assembly. Use a 12mm socket wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the bulb housing in place. Once the bolts are loose, pull the bulb housing out and remove the bulb.

6. Disconnect the low-beam bulb connector. The connector is located on the back of the bulb housing. Press down on the release tab and pull the connector apart.

7. Insert the new low-beam bulb into the headlight housing.

8. Connect the low-beam bulb connector.

9. Replace the low-beam bulb housing and tighten the bolts.

10. Install the new high-beam bulb.

11. Connect the high-beam bulb connector.

12. Replace the headlight cover.

Tips:

* When replacing the headlight bulbs, be careful not to touch the glass of the bulb. The oil from your skin can cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.

* Make sure that the new headlight bulbs are properly seated in the headlight assembly. If the bulbs are not properly seated, they may not work properly.
