Step 1: Gather Necessary Tools
- 2 Original keys that work with the vehicle
- New or Unprogrammed Key
- BMW diagnostic tool (such as INPA or ISTA+)
- Laptop with the diagnostic software
Step 2: Connect toECU
- Attach the diagnostic tool to your vehicle's OBD-II port.
- Connect the tool to your laptop using the appropriate cable or wirelessly(Depending on the tool)
Step 3: Open Diagnostic Software
- Launch the diagnostic software(INPA or ISTA+) on your laptop.
- Select the appropriate vehicle model and ECU options
Step 4: Enter CAS Module
- Navigate to the Central Body Electronics(CAS) module or equivalent
-Locate the "Key Programming" or"Key Adaptation" option
Step 5: Begin Programming
-Follow prompts or instructions on the diagnostic tool regarding key programming
-Select the "Add New Key" or similar options
-Enter a key number or position
Step 6: Insert Unprogrammed Key
-Insert an unprogrammed key into the ignition
-The ignition should be off at this point
Step 7: Programming Sequence
-Follow the steps provided by the diagnostic tool
-Turn ignition to specific positions, press buttons or perform other actions accordingly
Step 8: Finalize Programming
-When prompted,remove the unprogrammed key and insert one of your working keys
-Confirm the programming process
-Retrieve your newly programmed key from ignition
