1. Locate the OBD-II port. It is usually located under the dashboard, near the steering column.
2. Connect an OBD-II scanner to the port.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "On" position.
4. Follow the prompts on the scanner to access the vehicle's diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs).
5. Once you have identified the DTCs, use the scanner to erase them.
6. Turn off the ignition key and disconnect the scanner.
7. Start the engine. The check engine light should be off.
If the check engine light comes back on after resetting it, there may be an underlying issue with the vehicle that needs to be addressed. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic to diagnose and fix the problem.
