Tools Needed:
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Replacement mirror control switch
Instructions:
1. Disconnect Battery:
- Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of your car's battery to prevent any electrical accidents during the process.
2. Remove Mirror Control Panel:
- Locate the mirror control panel on the driver's side door panel.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry off the plastic cover of the control panel.
3. Remove Control Panel Screws:
- Once the cover is removed, you will see two Phillips-head screws securing the control panel to the door panel.
- Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these screws.
4. Unplug Control Switch:
- Gently pull the control panel away from the door panel to expose the wiring.
- Locate the electrical connector attached to the back of the mirror control switch.
- Press the release tab on the connector and carefully disconnect it from the mirror control switch.
5. Remove Old Mirror Control Switch:
- The mirror control switch is held in place by plastic clips.
- Gently pry the clips with the flat-head screwdriver to release the switch.
6. Install the New Mirror Control Switch:
-Align the new mirror control switch with the plastic clips on the door panel.
- Press firmly to snap the switch into place.
7. Reconnect the Electrical Connector:
-Reconnect the electrical connector that you disconnected earlier by pressing it firmly into place.
8. Replace the Control Panel Screws:
-Reinsert the two Phillips-head screws that you removed earlier to secure the control panel back to the door panel.
9. Replace the Mirror Control Panel Cover:
-Align the plastic cover of the mirror control panel with the panel on the door panel and gently press it into place.
10. Test the Switch:
-Reconnect the negative terminal of the car battery.
-Turn on the ignition and test the mirror control switch to make sure it is functioning properly.
