How do you pull the steering wheel on a 99 Lumina with air bag to replace wiper switch?

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This is very important, as it will prevent the airbag from deploying while you are working.

2. Remove the two screws that hold the airbag cover in place. They are located on either side of the steering wheel.

3. Gently pry the airbag cover off of the steering wheel. Be careful not to damage the airbag unit or the steering wheel.

4. Disconnect the airbag connector. It is located on the back of the airbag unit.

5. Remove the steering wheel nut. It is located in the center of the steering wheel.

6. Use a steering wheel puller to remove the steering wheel. Be careful not to damage the steering wheel or the steering column.

7. Install the new wiper switch.

8. Reinstall the steering wheel. Tighten the steering wheel nut to the recommended torque.

9. Reconnect the airbag connector.

10. Snap the airbag cover back into place.

11. Reinstall the two screws that hold the airbag cover in place.

12. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
