1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.
* Phillips head screwdriver
* Flat head screwdriver
* 10mm socket wrench
* 12mm socket wrench
* New hood latch assembly
* Safety goggles
* Gloves
2. Prepare the vehicle.
* Park the vehicle on a level surface.
* Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
* Engage the parking brake.
3. Open the hood.
* Locate the hood release lever inside the vehicle. It is usually located on the driver's side footwell, near the door.
* Pull the hood release lever.
* Raise the hood and prop it open with a support rod.
4. Locate the hood latch assembly.
* The hood latch assembly is located on the underside of the hood, near the front of the vehicle.
* It is held in place by two bolts.
5. Remove the hood latch assembly.
* Use the 10mm socket wrench to remove the two bolts that hold the hood latch assembly in place.
* Carefully remove the hood latch assembly.
6. Inspect the hood latch assembly.
* Look for any damage or wear to the hood latch assembly.
* If the hood latch assembly is damaged or worn, it will need to be replaced.
7. Install the new hood latch assembly.
* Place the new hood latch assembly in position.
* Insert the two bolts that hold the hood latch assembly in place.
* Use the 10mm socket wrench to tighten the bolts.
8. Test the hood latch assembly.
* Close the hood and make sure that it latches securely.
* If the hood does not latch securely, adjust the hood latch assembly as necessary.
9. Clean up.
* Clean up any debris that was created during the repair.
* Store the tools and parts that were used in a safe place.
