Locate the gear stick console. It is the plastic panel that surrounds the gear stick and handbrake.
Remove the screws that hold the gear stick console in place. There are usually two screws located at the front of the console and one at the rear.
Pull the gear stick console upwards and towards the back of the car to release it.
Disconnect the electrical connectors that connect the gear stick console to the car. There may be one or more connectors, depending on the model of your car.
Remove the gear stick console from the car.
To refit the gear stick console, simply follow the above steps in reverse order.
