How do you Lubricate ac fan 1997 Mercedes c280?

How to Oil or Lubricate Your AC Fan Motor

1. Identify your fan motor. Usually, you’ll find it in one of three locations:

* In the trunk

* Under the hood

* In the air filter assembly

2. Test your fan motor. Ensure the fan motor is running smoothly by flicking the AC fan speed to "II."

3. Turn off the power. Turn off the air conditioner and disconnect the power supply to the fan motor.

4. Remove the fan motor. Consult the owner’s manual for instructions. Usually, all you have to do is unscrew a few bolts.

5. Lubricate the fan motor. Apply a few drops of 3-in-1 oil or synthetic air compressor oil directly to the shaft. Ensure the oil does not come in contact with the commutator or other electrical parts.

6. Reinstall the fan motor and reconnect the power supply. Tighten the bolts and turn the power back on.

7. Test your fan motor again. Turn the AC back on and check if the fan motor is running smoothly.

Tips:

* If the fan motor is severely damaged or noisy, you may need to replace it.

* Some fan motors have self-lubricating bearings and don't require oiling or lubrication.

* Consult the owner's manual for specific instructions about oiling or lubricating the fan motor.

* If you are uncomfortable working on electrical systems, take the car to a qualified mechanic.
