When is Reporting commercial vehicle accidents to DOT in writing required?

- a CMV was involved;

- a fatality occurred within 30 days;

- a CMV transported any Hazardous Materials requiring placarding;

- a CMV was carrying passengers under 21 years of age at the time of the crash; or

- a CMV transporting hazardous materials placardable, but not required, was involved.
