How do you change the front wheel bearings on a Citroen Dispatch Van?

Tools and Materials:

1. Jack and Jack Stands

2. Wheel Chock

3. Lug Wrench

4. Flat Head Screwdriver

5. Pliers

6. Impact Wrench (Optional)

7. New Front Wheel Bearings

8. Grease

Instructions:

1. Safely park your vehicle on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake and apply a chock behind one of the rear tires to prevent the vehicle from rolling.

2. Use a lug wrench to loosen lug nuts on the front wheel. Do not completely remove the lug nuts at this point.

3. Raise your vehicle with a jack and place jack stands on secure support points for safety. Ensure that the vehicle is securely supported before continuing.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

5. Locate the brake caliper and remove the two bolts holding it in place using a wrench.

6. Carefully lift the caliper and place it aside, being cautious not to damage or strain the brake line.

7. Remove the rotor by taking out the two bolts that hold it in place.

8. Using a screwdriver or pliers, remove the cotter pin from the axle nut.

9. Use an impact wrench (or a breaker bar if you don't have an impact wrench) to loosen and remove the axle nut.

10. Pull the hub assembly out of the knuckle.

11. Replace the old bearing with the new bearing.

12. Reassemble the hub assembly and reinstall it into the knuckle.

13. Install the new axle nut and tighten it to the specified torque.

14. Reinstall the cotter pin.

15. Reinstall the rotor.

16. Reinstall the brake caliper and tighten the bolts.

17. Replace the wheel and tighten lug nuts.

18. Once installed, lower the vehicle back down and test drive to ensure everything is working properly.

Note: Ensure you apply some grease to the new bearings before installing them. Consult the vehicle's service manual or a reliable source for specific torque specifications and any additional steps that might apply to your specific vehicle model. Front wheel bearing replacement should be performed by someone with mechanical experience. Consider safety first and seek professional assistance if you are not confident or capable of doing the job yourself.
