Instructions:
1. Drain the coolant:
- Park your vehicle on a level surface.
- Allow the engine to cool down completely.
- Place a drain pan under the radiator drain plug.
- Open the radiator drain plug and allow the coolant to drain completely.
- Close the radiator drain plug.
2. Disconnect the radiator hose:
- Use a wrench to loosen the hose clamp on the upper radiator hose.
- Pull the upper radiator hose off the radiator.
3. Remove the water pump bolts:
- Use a socket wrench to loosen the bolts holding the water pump to the engine block.
- Remove the bolts.
4. Remove the old water pump:
- Use a pry bar to gently pry the water pump off the engine block.
- Be careful not to damage the gasket surface on the engine block.
5. Clean the gasket surface:
- Use a wire brush to clean the gasket surface on the engine block.
- Remove any old gasket material or sealant.
6. Install the new water pump gasket:
- Apply a thin bead of sealant to the new water pump gasket.
- Place the gasket on the engine block.
7. Install the new water pump:
- Place the new water pump on the engine block.
- Install the bolts and tighten them securely.
8. Reconnect the radiator hose:
- Slide the upper radiator hose onto the radiator and reconnect the hose clamp.
9. Fill the radiator with coolant:
- Use a funnel to fill the radiator with coolant.
- Add coolant until the radiator is full.
10. Check for leaks:
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check for any leaks around the water pump.
- If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts until the leaks stop.
