How do you replace rear latch release switch on a rendezvous?

Replacing the Rear Hatch Release Switch on a Buick Rendezvous

Tools and Materials Needed:

Flat head screwdriver

Phillips head screwdriver

New rear hatch release switch

Replacement bulb

Panel Pry tool (Optional)

1. Open the rear hatch of your vehicle.

2. Locate the two Phillips head screws on the rear hatch latch.

3. Remove the two rear hatch latch screws using the Phillips head screwdriver.

4. Remove the rear hatch latch from the vehicle by gently prying it off.

5. There are two tabs located within the assembly. Use a panel pry tool or flathead screwdriver to gently release these.

6. Carefully unplug the electrical connectors attached to the rear latch release switch.

7. Remove the old rear hatch release switch from the vehicle.

8. Replace the rear hatch release switch by inserting the new switch into the space left by the old switch and reconnecting the electrical connectors.

9. Replace the rear hatch latch by aligning it to the latch strike mechanism and replacing the two Phillips head screws.

10. Verify the rear hatch release switch is working properly.
