Instructions
1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down completely.
3. Open the hood of your car.
4. Locate the water pump. It is usually located on the front of the engine, near the bottom.
5. Disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery.
6. Remove the serpentine belt.
7. Remove the water pump pulley.
8. Remove the four bolts that hold the water pump in place.
9. Carefully pry the water pump off of the engine block.
10. Clean the mating surface of the engine block.
11. Apply a thin layer of gasket sealer to the new water pump gasket.
12. Install the new water pump gasket.
13. Install the new water pump.
14. Secure the water pump in place with the four bolts.
15. Reinstall the water pump pulley.
16. Reinstall the serpentine belt.
17. Reconnect the negative terminal of your car battery.
18. Fill the radiator with coolant.
19. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
20. Check for any leaks. If there are any leaks, tighten the bolts until the leak stops.
You have now successfully replaced the water pump on your 1995 Pontiac Trans Am.
