- Socket wrench set
- 10mm socket
- 7mm socket
- Pliers
Procedure:
1. Disconnect the battery:
- Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the negative battery terminal (usually marked with a '-' sign).
- Use a wrench to loosen and remove the nut securing the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery terminal and set it aside.
2. Remove the front grille:
- The grille is held in place by several plastic clips. Locate and release these clips by gently prying them open with a flat-head screwdriver or a trim removal tool.
- Once all the clips are released, carefully pull the grille forward to remove it.
3. Detach the headlight assembly:
- Locate the headlight assembly that needs to be replaced. There are two bolts securing the assembly, one on the top and one on the bottom.
- Use a 10mm socket wrench to loosen and remove these bolts.
- Once the bolts are removed, carefully pull the headlight assembly forward to detach it from the vehicle.
- Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the headlight assembly.
4. Replace the headlight bulb (if needed):
- If you're only replacing the headlight bulb and not the entire assembly, you can do so by following these steps:
- Remove the dust cover located at the back of the headlight assembly.
- Locate and remove the retaining clip that holds the bulb in place.
- Carefully remove the old bulb from its socket.
- Insert the new headlight bulb into the socket and secure it with the retaining clip.
- Reinstall the dust cover.
5. Install the new headlight assembly:
- Position the new headlight assembly in place, making sure that the mounting bolts align with the corresponding holes in the vehicle's frame.
- Insert and tighten the mounting bolts using a 10mm socket wrench.
- Reconnect any electrical connectors that you disconnected earlier.
6. Reattach the front grille:
- Align the front grille with the mounting brackets on the vehicle.
- Press firmly to snap the grille into place, ensuring that all the clips engage securely.
7. Reconnect the battery:
- Reattach the negative battery cable to the battery terminal.
- Tighten the nut securing the cable until it's snug.
