1. Gather the tools you need:
- Jack and jack stands
- 3/4-inch socket set
- 1/2-inch socket set
- Flat-head screwdriver
- Pry bar
- Chisel
- Punch
- Hammer
2. Park your car on a flat, hard surface and engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
- Chock the wheels on the opposite side of the car that you are working on.
- Jack up the car high enough to remove the wheel.
- Remove the wheels.
3. Remove the brake caliper:
- Use a 1/2-inch socket set to remove the bolts that hold the brake caliper to the wheel hub.
- Swing the brake caliper out of the way without disconnecting it from the brake lines.
4. Remove the rotor:
- Use a flat-head screwdriver and a pry bar to remove the rotor.
- Be careful not to damage the rotor or the hub.
5. Remove the wheel hub:
- Use a 3/4-inch socket set to remove the bolts that hold the wheel hub to the steering knuckle.
- Tap the hub with a hammer to loosen it from the steering knuckle.
- Remove the hub from the steering knuckle.
6. Remove the old bearing:
- Use a chisel and punch to drive out the old bearing.
- Be careful not to damage the steering knuckle.
7. Install the new bearing:
- Use a hammer to press the new bearing into the steering knuckle.
- Make sure the bearing is seated properly all the way.
8. Reinstall the hub, rotor, caliper, and wheel.
- Follow the steps in reverse to reinstall the hub, rotor, caliper, and wheel.
9. Test drive the car:
- Take the car for a test drive to make sure that the bearing is working properly.
