How do you change antifreeze in a Honda civic 2003 1.7 ctdi?

Tools and Materials:

- New Antifreeze/ Coolant (Honda recommends a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water; Refer to your owner's manual for specific requirements)

- Funnel

- Drain Pan

- Wrench or Socket Set

- Safety Goggles

- Gloves

Instructions:

1. Park the car on a level surface and allow the engine to cool down completely.

2. Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect yourself from splashes and chemicals.

3. Locate the drain plug on the radiator. It is a plastic plug located at the bottom of the radiator on the passenger side.

4. Place a drain pan under the plug and loosen it to drain the coolant. Allow the coolant to drain completely.

5. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.

6. Locate the radiator cap. It is located on top of the radiator on the driver's side.

7. Open the radiator cap to allow air to enter the system. This will help the new coolant circulate properly.

8. Add the new coolant/antifreeze mixture to the radiator. Use the funnel to avoid spills.

9. Fill the radiator until the coolant level reaches the "FULL" mark on the reservoir.

10. Close the radiator cap tightly.

11. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. This will circulate the new coolant through the system and remove any air pockets.

12. Check the coolant level again and top it off if necessary.

13. Dispose of the old coolant properly. Antifreeze is toxic, so do not pour it down the drain or into the environment. Take it to a recycling center or auto parts store for proper disposal.

14. Congratulations, you have successfully changed the antifreeze in your Honda Civic!
