Step-by-step guide:
1. Remove the old windshield.
• Begin by removing the screws at the top of the windshield from inside the car.
• Next, use a flathead screwdriver to pry up the trim at the bottom of the windshield.
• Once the trim is removed, use a razor blade or utility knife to cut through the sealant around the windshield.
• Be careful not to damage the paint on the car.
• Once the sealant is cut, use a pry bar to pry the windshield out of the car.
2. Prepare the windshield opening.
• Once the old windshield is removed, clean the opening thoroughly with glass cleaner.
• Be sure to remove all of the old sealant and debris.
• Allow the opening to dry completely.
3. Apply the primer.
- Apply the primer to the windshield opening, following the manufacturer's instructions.
4. Apply the windshield adhesive.
- Apply the windshield adhesive to the windshield opening, following the manufacturer's instructions.
- Be sure to apply the adhesive evenly and in a continuous bead.
- Do not allow the adhesive to come in contact with the paint on the car.
5. Set the new windshield in place.
- Position the new windshield on the car and press it down into place.
- Be sure to align the windshield properly before pressing it down.
6. Secure the windshield.
- Insert the screws along the top of the windshield and replace the trim at the bottom of the windshield.
7. Install window glazing tape.
- Apply a strip of window glazing tape around the new windshield to help keep it in place.
