How do you remove inside door panel for Mazda MPV van to replace exterior handle?

1. Remove the door panel screws. There are three screws that hold the door panel in place. Two are located on the top of the door panel and one is located in the armrest. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove these screws.

2. Pry up the door panel clips. There are three plastic clips that hold the door panel in place. Two of them are located on the sides of the door panel and one is located at the bottom of the door panel. Use a flat-head screwdriver or pry bar to pry these clips up.

3. Remove the door panel. Once the screws are removed and the clips are pried up, you can simply pull the door panel off of the door.

4. Disconnect the door handle cable. There is a cable that connects the exterior door handle to the door lock mechanism. Disconnect this cable by pressing down on the release tab on the connector.

5. Remove the door handle bolts. There are two bolts that hold the exterior door handle in place. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove these bolts.

6. Remove the door handle. Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the exterior door handle off of the door.

7. Install the new door handle. Insert the new door handle into the door and align the bolt holes. Insert the bolts and tighten them with a Phillips head screwdriver.

8. Reconnect the door handle cable. Press the door handle cable connector onto the release tab on the door lock mechanism.

9. Snap the door panel back into place. Press the door panel clips back into place and replace the three screws.
