How do you change the timing belt on a 91 Honda CRX?

Tools:

* 10mm socket

* 12mm socket

* 14mm socket

* 17mm socket

* 19mm socket

* 3/8-inch drive ratchet

* 3/8-inch drive breaker bar

* Timing belt tension gauge

* Flat-blade screwdriver

* Pliers

* Torque wrench

Parts:

* Timing belt (Honda #14400S10A01)

* Water pump (Honda #19200P73001)

* Water pump gasket (Honda #19331P73000)

* Thermostat (Honda #19301P73000)

* Thermostat gasket (Honda #91310P73000)

Instructions:

1. Remove the serpentine belt.

2. Remove the timing belt cover.

3. Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise until the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft sprockets are aligned.

4. Loosen the tensioner pulley bolt and move the tensioner pulley away from the timing belt.

5. Remove the timing belt.

6. Inspect the water pump and thermostat. If either are damaged or leaking, replace them.

7. Install the new timing belt.

8. Tighten the tensioner pulley bolt to 25 Nm.

9. Turn the crankshaft pulley clockwise two full revolutions.

10. Check that the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft sprockets are still aligned.

11. If the timing marks are not aligned, repeat steps 4-9.

12. Install the timing belt cover.

13. Install the serpentine belt.
