1. Open the glove box.
2. Squeeze the sides of the glove box to release it from the dash.
3. Once the glove box is released, lower it down.
4. On the right side of the glove box opening, you will see a black cover.
5. Press the tabs on the cover and remove it.
6. Behind the cover, you will see the cabin air filter.
7. Grip the filter and pull it out.
8. Inspect the filter for dirt and debris. If it is dirty, replace it with a new one.
9. Insert the new filter into the slot. Make sure that the filter is seated properly.
10. Replace the black cover.
11. Close the glove box.
That's it! You have now successfully replaced the cabin air filter in your 2008 Subaru Outback.
