How do you replace the rear brake drum on a 1987 Honda Accord?

Tools and Materials Needed:

- Lug wrench

- Socket wrench set

- Jack and jack stands

- C-clamp

- Brake cleaner

- New brake drum

- New brake shoes

- New wheel cylinder

Instructions:

1. Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheels.

3. Jack up the rear of your car and place it on jack stands.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.

5. Remove the brake drum.

- If the drum is stuck, you may need to use a C-clamp to press it off.

6. Inspect the brake shoes and wheel cylinder.

- If the brake shoes are worn or the wheel cylinder is leaking, you will need to replace them.

7. Clean the brake drum and wheel cylinder with brake cleaner.

8. Install the new brake shoes and wheel cylinder.

9. Reinstall the brake drum.

10. Put the wheels back on and tighten the lug nuts.

11. Lower your car off the jack stands.

12. Test the brakes to make sure they are working properly.

Tips:

- When replacing the brake shoes, make sure to use the correct ones for your car. There are different brake shoes for the front and rear wheels.

- If you are not comfortable replacing the brake shoes yourself, you can have a mechanic do it for you.
