1. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine.
2. Locate the OBD-II port, which is usually located under the dashboard on the driver’s side.
3. Connect a scan tool or code reader to the OBD-II port.
4. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position.
5. Wait a few seconds for the code reader to initialize and connect to the vehicle’s computer.
6. Select the “Read Codes” option on the code reader.
7. The code reader will display the trouble codes that are stored in the vehicle’s computer.
8. Select the “Clear Codes” option on the code reader.
9. The code reader will clear the trouble codes from the vehicle’s computer.
10. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position and start the engine to verify that the trouble codes have been cleared.
