How do you change the front tires on a 1993 Toyota 4Runner?

Tools and materials needed:

- Jack and jack stands

- Lug wrench

- Wheel chocks

- New tires

- Tire iron

- Spare tire

- Replacement lug nuts

Step 1: Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down. Engage the transmission into first gear (manual transmission) or park (automatic transmission).

Step 2: Loosen the lug nuts. Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels. Do not remove them completely.

Step 3: Raise the vehicle. Place the jack under the vehicle frame near the front wheels, making sure that it is stable. Jack the vehicle up until the front wheels are off the ground.

Step 4: Remove the lug nuts and wheels. Use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts and then take off the wheels.

Step 5: Install the new tires. Place the new tires on the wheels, making sure that the valve stems are aligned with the holes in the rims.

Step 6: Replace the lug nuts. Put the lug nuts back on and tighten them with the lug wrench. Do not fully tighten them at this point.

Step 7: Lower the vehicle. Use the jack to lower the vehicle until the tires are just touching the ground.

Step 8: Tighten the lug nuts. Tighten the lug nuts in a star pattern, using the lug wrench to ensure they are snugly secured.

Step 9: Remove the jack stands and chocks. Remove the jack stands and chocks, then lower the vehicle fully.

Step 10: Re-check the lug nut tightness. After driving a few miles, re-check the tightness of the lug nuts and tighten them if necessary.
