1. Gather Materials
- Jumper wire (approximately 6 inches long)
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver (optional)
2. Locate the ECU (Electronic Control Unit):
- Remove the driver's side floor mat to expose the ECU.
- It is located behind a plastic cover on the left-hand side of the footwell.
- Remove the plastic cover using the Phillips-head screwdriver.
3. Locate the Seatbelt Warning Buzzer Connector:
- Inside the ECU, find the seatbelt warning buzzer connector.
- It's a white connector with two wires, usually labeled as "SB" or "S."
4. Disconnect the Seatbelt Warning Buzzer Connector:
- Use the flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the connector's locking tab.
- Pull the connector straight up to disconnect it.
5. Connect the Jumper Wire:
- Insert one end of the jumper wire into the connector's empty slot labeled "S" or "SB."
- Insert the other end of the jumper wire into the connector's empty slot labeled "G" or "GND."
6. Reinstall the ECU Cover:
- Securely replace the ECU's plastic cover using the Phillips-head screwdriver.
7. Test the Seatbelt Warning Buzzer:
- Start the engine and fasten your seatbelt.
- The seatbelt warning buzzer should no longer sound.
8. Reinstall the Floor Mat:
- Put the driver's side floor mat back in place.
Remember, disabling the seatbelt warning buzzer reduces your safety. Wearing a seatbelt is crucial in preventing severe injuries or fatalities during accidents. Use this method only if necessary and for temporary purposes. It is recommended to always fasten your seatbelt while driving.
