1. Open the hood. Look for the clutch fluid reservoir. It is usually a small, translucent plastic tank with a black cap. The clutch fluid reservoir on the Mazda Protege is located in the engine compartment, on the driver’s side.
2. Remove the cap. Be careful not to spill the fluid.
3. Check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the reservoir. If the fluid level is low, add some DOT 3 or DOT 4 brake fluid.
4. Replace the cap. Make sure the cap is tight so that the fluid does not spill.
