My car honk keeps honking even when its just sitting not all the time but once in awhile it is a short and only one then quits for about an hour does again?

Here are some possible reasons:

1. Faulty Horn Switch: The horn switch is responsible for activating the horn. If it is faulty, it can cause the horn to honk without being pressed. Check if there are any loose connections, dirt, or damage in the horn switch assembly.

2. Wiring Issue: A short in the electrical system could also cause the horn to honk randomly. Check the wiring for any damages, exposed wires, or loose connections that may be causing a short circuit.

3. Horn Relay: The horn relay acts as a switch that allows power to flow to the horn. A faulty or stuck horn relay can cause the horn to honk even when the switch is not activated. Check the horn relay for any issues or replace it if necessary.

4. Faulty Horn: The horn itself could also be the culprit. If the internal mechanism of the horn is damaged or faulty, it may honk randomly. Try removing the horn and inspect it for any signs of damage.

5. Security System Glitch: If your car has an aftermarket security system, a glitch or fault in the system could be causing the horn to honk. Try resetting the security system or disabling it to see if the problem persists.

If you are not comfortable troubleshooting electrical issues, it is best to take your car to a qualified mechanic for proper diagnosis and repair.
