- Jack and jack stands
- Lug wrench
- Socket set
- Hammer
- Screwdriver
- Brake cleaner
- New brake pads and rotors (if needed)
- C-clamp or brake piston compressor
Instructions:
1. Loosen the lug nuts on the front wheels.
2. Jack up the truck and place the jack stands under the frame.
3. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheels.
4. Use a screwdriver to pry off the brake caliper.
5. Use a C-clamp or brake piston compressor to press the piston back into the caliper.
6. Remove the old brake pads from the caliper.
7. Clean the caliper and rotor with brake cleaner.
8. Install the new brake pads and rotor.
9. Reinstall the brake caliper.
10. Put the wheels back on and tighten the lug nuts.
11. Lower the truck from the jack stands.
Note: Some Dodge Dakotas may require special tools to remove the brake caliper. These tools are available at most auto parts stores.
