How do you change front turn signal on 2006 Ford Escape?

Tools Needed:

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Flat head screwdriver

- Replacement turn signal bulb

Procedure

1. Park your Escape: Park your Escape on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.

2. Open the hood: Release the hood latch inside the Escape and then lift the hood. Prop the hood open with the hood support rod.

3. Locate the turn signal assembly: The turn signal assembly is located in the front of the Escape, on the side where the bulb needs to be replaced. It is a clear or amber plastic cover that houses the turn signal bulb.

4. Remove the turn signal assembly: Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the turn signal assembly in place. There are typically two screws, one on each side of the assembly.

* If removing a single bulb and not the whole assembly the screws may not need to be loosened depending on the assembly

5. Disconnect the electrical connector: Once the screws are removed, you can disconnect the electrical connector that supplies power to the turn signal bulb. To do this, simply press down on the release tab on the connector and pull it apart.

6. Remove the old turn signal bulb: Once the electrical connector is disconnected, you can remove the old turn signal bulb. To do this, simply turn the bulb counterclockwise until it comes out of the socket.

7. Install the new turn signal bulb: Take the new turn signal bulb and insert it into the socket. Turn the bulb clockwise until it is secure.

8. Reconnect the electrical connector: Plug the electrical connector back into the turn signal assembly.

9. Reinstall the turn signal assembly: Place the turn signal assembly back into position and reinstall the screws that you removed in step 4. Tighten the screws until they are snug.

10. Close the hood: Once the turn signal assembly is reinstalled, you can close the hood.

11. Test the turn signal: Turn on the ignition and turn on the turn signal for 5 to 10 seconds. Verify the blinker functions properly . Turn on the hazards as a double check

Tip: If needed use the flat head screwdriver or other prying tool to pry open enough space in plastic assembly to loosen screws or remove and reinsert the assembly and bulb

That's it! You have now successfully replaced the front turn signal bulb on your 2006 Ford Escape.
