How do you remove the PTO clutch on a cub cadet 2166?

1. Engage the parking brake.

2. Raise the mower deck to its highest position.

3. Locate the PTO clutch. It is a small, round housing located on the bottom of the transmission, below the mower deck.

4. Remove the PTO clutch bracket bolts. There are two bolts that hold the PTO clutch bracket to the transmission.

5. Remove the PTO clutch housing bolts. There are four bolts that hold the PTO clutch housing to the clutch bracket.

6. Remove the PTO clutch housing. Be careful not to drop any of the internal clutch parts.

7. Remove the PTO clutch friction disc. The friction disc is located inside the clutch housing. It is held in place with two small screws.

8. Remove the PTO clutch pressure plate. The pressure plate is located behind the friction disc. It is held in place with four small screws.

9. Remove the PTO clutch hub. The hub is located behind the pressure plate. It is held in place with a large nut.

10. Clean all of the parts. Use a wire brush to remove any dirt or debris from the parts.

11. Reassemble the PTO clutch. Assemble the clutch in reverse order of the disassembly instructions.

12. Tighten all of the nuts and bolts.

13. Test the PTO clutch. Start the engine and engage the PTO clutch. The mower deck should start rotating.
