1. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. Do not start the engine.
2. Once the engine light is displayed on the dashboard, connect the jumper cable/paper clip to pins TE1 (blue/white) and E1 (black/white) or TE2 (blue/red) and E1 (black/white) on the OBD1 connector.
3. Turn the ignition key to the "Off" position and then turn it back to the "On" position without starting the engine.
4. The check engine light should flash 5 times, indicating that the diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are being cleared.
5. Once the check engine light stops flashing, turn the ignition key to the "Off" position and remove the jumper cable/paper clip.
6. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. The engine light should now be turned off.
If the engine light does not turn off or if the same diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) reappear, it may indicate an underlying issue with the engine or emission system that requires further diagnosis and repair. In this case, it is recommended to consult with a qualified mechanic or automotive technician for proper troubleshooting and repairs.
