Why my windshield wipers turn on?

Several reasons can cause your windshield wipers to turn on unexpectedly:

1. Rain Sensor: Many modern vehicles are equipped with a rain sensor that automatically activates the windshield wipers when it detects moisture on the windshield. If this sensor is overly sensitive or malfunctions, it could cause the wipers to activate unintentionally.

2. Faulty Windshield Wiper Switch: A faulty or damaged windshield wiper switch can lead to unintended wiper activation. The switch itself or the wiring within the wiper control circuit might be to blame.

3. Control Module Failure: In some cases, the wiper control module responsible for monitoring wiper functions may malfunction and initiate wiper movement regardless of user input.

4. Electrical Issues: Short circuits or disruptions in the electrical system involving the wiper circuit can trigger random wiper activations. Damaged wiring, poor connections, or an improper electrical installation can be behind this issue.

5. Aftermarket Devices: If aftermarket accessories are installed that interfere with the vehicle's electrical system, they may inadvertently cause electrical signals that are triggering the wipers to work.

You should have a qualified automotive technician investigate the issue.
