*Tools Needed*
- -Flat head screwdriver
- -Phillips head screwdriver
- -Ratchet set
- -Floor jack and jack stands
- -Pry bar
- -Wire brush
- -Safety glasses
Step 1: Prepare your truck
- Park your truck on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Raise the front of your truck with a floor jack and place the jack stands under the frame.
Step 2: Remove the old front bumper
- Remove the lower valance panel by unscrewing the screws holding it in place.
- Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up the plastic rivets holding the bumper to the frame.
- There will be 9 of these located on the bottom of the bumper.
Step 3: Remove the remaining hardware
- Remove the two bolts that hold the bumper shocks to the frame.
- Remove the two nuts that hold the bumper brackets to the frame.
Step 4: Remove the bumper
- Remove the front bumper carefully.
- Set the old bumper aside.
Step 5: Clean the mounting area
- Use a wire brush to remove any rust or dirt from the frame.
-Clean the mounting area with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
Step 6: Install the new bumper
- Position the new front bumper to the frame.
- Install the two bolts that secure the bumper shocks to the frame.
- Install the two nuts that hold the bumper brackets to the frame.
- Press the plastic rivets into place to secure the bumper to the frame.
Step 7: Install the lower valance panel
- Install the lower valance panel by screwing the screws back in place.
Step 8: Lower your truck
- Carefully lower your truck from the jack stands.
- Test fit the bumper and make sure it is properly secured.
*Final Step:* Double-check all bolts, screws and rivets are tight. Stand back and admire your newly installed front bumper!
