How do you change rear tail lights 1997 mercury grand marquis?

1. Remove the screws holding the tail light lens in place.

  • There are usually two screws, one on each side of the lens.
  • Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws.
  • 2. Pull the tail light lens straight out of the housing.

    3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the back of the lens.

    4. Pull out the old bulb and insert the new bulb into the socket.

    5. Reconnect the electrical connector.

    6. Reinstall the tail light lens into the housing

    7. Push the tail light lens into place until it snaps into position.

    8. Reinstall the screws that you removed in step 1.

Important: Be careful not to drop the screws into the housing of the tail light. Otherwise, you might need to remove the whole tail light fixture to retrieve them.

Your taillights should now be working properly. If they are not, double-check that all of the connections are snug and that the new bulbs are properly seated. You may also need to replace the fuse for the taillights, which is typically located in the fuse box under the hood of your vehicle.
