1. Engage the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Locate the clutch adjustment rod on the driver's side of the transmission. It is a threaded rod that connects the clutch fork to the clutch pedal.
3. Use the socket wrench to loosen the locknut on the clutch adjustment rod.
4. Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry the cotter pin out of the clutch adjustment rod.
5. Turn the clutch adjustment rod clockwise to tighten it, and counter-clockwise to loosen it. Turn it until the clutch pedal has about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of free play.
6. Reinstall the cotter pin and tighten the locknut.
7. Test the clutch by depressing the pedal. It should feel smooth and consistent.
8. If necessary, repeat steps 4-7 until the clutch is properly adjusted.
