How do you replace gear stick knob on a fiat scudo?

Replacing a gear stick knob on a Fiat Scudo is quite straightforward, and you can usually do it without any special tools or skills. Here's how to do it:

Tools Needed:

- Flat-head screwdriver

- New gear stick knob (ensure it fits the thread type and size of your vehicle's gear shaft)

Steps to Replace Gear Stick Knob:

1. Remove Old Gear Stick Knob:

- Grip the old gear stick knob firmly with one hand.

- Use the flat-head screwdriver to pry open the plastic cover/collar around the base of the knob. Be gentle to avoid breaking the tabs.

- Once the cover is loose, gently pull it off to expose the gear stick shaft and the retaining screw (if any).

- If there's a retaining screw holding the knob in place, use the screwdriver to loosen and remove it.

2. Unscrew the Old Knob:

- Firmly grip the old knob and start twisting it counterclockwise to unscrew it from the gear stick shaft.

- If it's stuck, you can gently wiggle the knob while turning it to help loosen it.

- Keep turning until the knob comes off completely.

3. Install the New Knob:

- Take your new gear stick knob and align the threads with the gear stick shaft.

- Screw the new knob onto the shaft, turning it clockwise until it's secure.

- Make sure the knob is firmly in place and doesn't wobble or move too freely.

4. Reattach the Cover:

- Reposition the plastic cover you removed earlier around the base of the new knob.

- Gently press the cover down to snap it into place, ensuring all tabs engage and hold it securely.

- Check the cover is properly seated all the way around the knob.

That's it! You've successfully replaced the gear stick knob on your Fiat Scudo.
