1. Preliminary Checks:
- Ensure the truck is parked on a level surface with the engine turned off.
- Open the door you need to adjust.
2. Locate the Hinge Bolts:
- Find the top and bottom hinge bolts that connect the door to the truck body.
3. Loosen the Hinge Bolts:
- Use the adjustable wrench to loosen the top and bottom hinge bolts, but don't remove them completely.
4. Adjust Door Alignment:
- Use the flat-head screwdriver to gently pry between the door and the body to move the door in or out.
- To move the door in: Pry toward the inside of the truck.
- To move the door out: Pry toward the outside of the truck.
5. Retighten the Hinge Bolts:
- Use the adjustable wrench to retighten the top and bottom hinge bolts until they are secure.
6. Test the Door:
- Close and open the door to make sure it is correctly aligned, free of gaps or binding.
- If alignment issues persist, repeat the process until the door is appropriately aligned.
7. Additional Adjustment Points:
- If the door still isn't properly aligned, there are usually two more adjustment points on the door latch striker. These screws can be loosened and the latch adjusted in or out to help with the alignment.
