How do you change alternator VW t5?

Tools Needed:

- 13 mm socket

- 16 mm socket

- 18 mm socket

-Breaker bar

-Torque wrench

-Ratchet

-Extension bar

-Flat-head screwdriver

-Pliers

Instructions

1. Disconnect the battery. This is the most important step, as it will prevent you from getting shocked while working on the alternator. To disconnect the battery, use a wrench to loosen the negative terminal (marked with a "-").

2. Remove the serpentine belt. The serpentine belt is the long, thin belt that wraps around the crankshaft, alternator, and water pump. To remove it, use a breaker bar and a 16 mm socket to loosen the tensioner pulley. Once the tensioner pulley is loose, you can slip the belt off of the alternator.

3. Remove the alternator bracket. The alternator bracket is the metal piece that holds the alternator in place. To remove it, use a ratchet and a 13 mm socket to remove the bolts that hold it to the engine block.

4. Remove the alternator. Once the alternator bracket is removed, you can remove the alternator. To do this, use a ratchet and an 18 mm socket to remove the bolts that hold it to the engine block. Be careful not to drop the alternator, as it is heavy.

5. Install the new alternator. To install the new alternator, simply reverse the steps above. Be sure to tighten all of the bolts securely.

6. Reconnect the battery. Once the alternator is installed, you can reconnect the battery. To do this, simply attach the negative terminal (marked with a "-") to the battery post and tighten it securely.

7. Test the alternator. To test the alternator, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, use a multimeter to check the voltage at the battery terminals. The voltage should be between 13.5 and 14.5 volts.

If the alternator is working properly, you will be able to drive your Volkswagen T5 without any problems. However, if you experience any electrical problems, such as dim lights or a dead battery, it is possible that the alternator is not working properly and you will need to take it to a mechanic to have it repaired or replaced.
