1. Open the hood of your car. Engage the hood release lever inside your car, and then lift up and prop open the hood.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Use a 10 mm wrench to loosen the nut that holds the negative battery terminal cable in place, and then lift the terminal off of the battery.
3. Wait 30 seconds. This will give the capacitors time to discharge, and the alarm system will be reset.
4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Replace the negative battery terminal onto the battery, and then tighten the nut that holds it in place.
5. Close the hood of your car. Your alarm should be reset.
Method 2: Using the alarm keypad
1. Enter your 4-digit PIN code into the keypad. Your PIN code is the same code that you used to arm the alarm.
2. Press the "Reset" button. The reset button is usually located near the bottom of the keypad.
3. The alarm should reset and the vehicle should unlock. If the alarm does not reset, try entering your PIN code again.
