1. Locate the "Reverse" gear.
2. Pull the gear lever to the "Reverse" gear position.
3. Press the small button next to the side of the gear knob to release the knob, and then pull it straight up.
4. If you wish to remove the entire gearstick, gently prize off the gearstick gaiter to expose the securing bolts.
5. Remove the bolts exposed after removing the gearstick gaiter, and then gently pry the gearstick off from the rod to which it is attached.
