Tools Needed:
- Torx screwdriver (T30)
- Flat-head screwdriver
- 10mm socket and wrench
Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Disassemble the Interior Door Panel:
- Start by removing the door handle bezel. Use the flat-head screwdriver to gently pry it off, beginning from the bottom.
- Unscrew the two Torx screws (T30) located at the top of the door panel.
- Pry off the plastic caps covering the screws on the interior door handle. Use the flat-head screwdriver for this.
- Remove the remaining Torx screws (T30) in the armrest area and the door pull.
- Disconnect the electrical connector for the power window if equipped. Be cautious not to damage the connector.
- Pull the door panel upwards to disengage it from the retaining clips, starting at the bottom and working your way up.
2. Remove the Old Door Handle:
- Unscrew the two screws that secure the door handle from the inside of the door.
- Remove the handle from the door by pulling it out gently.
3. Install the New Door Handle:
- Position the new door handle in place, aligning the mounting holes with the holes in the door.
- Secure the new handle with the two removed screws. Tighten them snugly.
4. Reassemble the Interior Door Panel:
- Clip the door panel back into place, starting at the top and working your way down. Make sure all the retaining clips engage securely.
- Reattach the plastic caps over the screws on the interior door handle.
- Reconnect the power window connector if disconnected earlier.
- Screw in the Torx screws (T30) in the armrest area and door pull.
- Replace the door handle bezel by pressing it back into place until it snaps securely.
5. Test the Door Handle:
- Check the door handle to ensure it operates smoothly and opens the door properly.
