Why does the brake failure message on my 99 Volvo s-80 t6 keep coming on?

1. Low brake fluid:

- Check the level of brake fluid in the reservoir. If it's low, top it off with the recommended type of brake fluid.

- Look for leaks in the brake lines or calipers. If you find any leaks, have them repaired immediately.

2. Faulty brake switch:

- The brake switch is a small electrical switch that's located near the brake pedal. When you press the brake pedal, the switch sends a signal to the brake lights to turn them on.

- If the brake switch is faulty, it may not send the signal to the brake lights, which will cause the brake failure message to come on.

3. Faulty brake light bulbs:

- If one of the brake light bulbs is burnt out, the brake failure message may come on.

- Check the brake lights to make sure that they're both working properly.

4. Faulty wiring:

- The wiring that connects the brake switch to the brake lights may be faulty. If this is the case, the brake failure message may come on.

- Have the wiring checked by a qualified mechanic to make sure that it's not faulty.

5. Faulty ABS module:

- The ABS module is an electronic control unit that helps to prevent the wheels from locking up during braking. If the ABS module is faulty, it may cause the brake failure message to come on.

- Have the ABS module checked by a qualified mechanic to make sure that it's not faulty.
