1. Park your Jeep in a safe location and turn off the engine.
2. Chock the wheels to prevent the Jeep from rolling.
3. Open the hood and remove the air filter housing.
4. Locate the clutch master cylinder which looks like a small round canister with two lines connected to it.
5. Unplug the sensor switch to release pressure.
6. Locate the slave cylinder which is on the side of the transmission.
7. Remove the dust boot which is a protective cover and inspect for leaks
8. Turn the bleeder valve and allow the brake fluid in the slave cylinder to empty out fully
9. Check the clutch pedal for resistance and adjust as needed
10. Refill the slave cylinder with brake fluid and test the clutch
Bleeding the Clutch Line:
1. Attach a clear hose to the clutch slave cylinder’s bleeder nipple and then run the other end of the tube into a small open container with some transmission fluid.
2. Press down on the clutch pedal and bleed the fluid using a helper. Have your helper open and close the bleeder screw while you press down on the clutch pedal.
3. Wait to fill reservoir as needed and press down on the pedal until the fluid has a full stream.
4. Close the bleeder screw and reconnect the clutch line to the master cylinder.
5. Repeat this process until you see no air bubbles rising to the surface and your clutch is properly adjusted
